Here's a little story about our bamboo vase...
We were looking for something cool. A large vase - an urn really. We found it and it fit just great in our living room. We stood back, looked at it and realized...that's really an Asian style piece. That could pass for a bamboo, couldn't it?
Sometimes you don't even realize where an accent comes from - what it's history is. You just know you like it and you think it'll look good in your living room. So, just buy it and don't look back!

The base above is, in fact, a round lacquer bamboo vase.
No, we're not kidding! And yes we do know there's no bamboo in, on, or around this vase.
Does that really matter? It's an awesome vase that you can do a lot with in your living room.
Put an artificial flower display in it or perhaps some sticks or wheat inside it. Display it on a sofa table, atop an armoire, or off to the side of the fireplace.
It's that easy...

The great thing about this vase is its selection of sizes. It's available in the small version you see above and a large version for the floor.
Look at the rich brown on this small bamboo vase. We may just need to buy this little number for our living room. Maybe we should get both sizes!
We bet you never thought a bamboo vase could look so good. Did you?

How about something on the funky side?
This interesting looking item is a 29 inch bamboo grain vase. You can also purchase it in a 17 inch size, for a more traditional look, and a larger bottleneck version. Choices are good.

This vase can go on so many different surfaces and be filled with so many different things like grass, wheat, flowers, sticks, whatever you can think of!
With living room ideas, it's best not to get to dependent on one product or type of product. There are other types of vases out there, there are different things you can put in your vase, and there are different types of accent pieces out there.
Take a hurricane vase for example. It's elegant, very stylish, and super versatile. Not to mention we got one from Jen's sister for Christmas and we love it!!
We've got another favorite floor vase and its our tall floor vase. After we bought it and found decorative some branches to put in it, we discovered that maybe the branches could use some color. Well...a couple cans of bronze spray paint later...not only had we painted the branches, but we were a bit of a different color, too.
So many things can go in a vase. Jen particularly loves artificial arrangements. If you want to go with a more understated and natural look, how about an artificial house plant? These are also called topiaries - and they're available in all different types, shapes and sizes. Something still living more your fancy...no problem.
In that case, we would recommend an exotic house plant which doesn't mean that it has to look out of place. This could be as simple as an indoor jupiter. No foliage for you...another idea coming right up!
This may be a stretch, but after you see a couple of these, you just might agree that contemporary abstract sculpture is a great living room accent.
Just goes to show, there are always options...there are always great ideas when it comes vases and all kinds of other accents.
