Black and white framed art adds a nice statement of sophistication to your living room and presents many different framing options for added versatility.
Don't think for a moment that a black and white framed art piece can't be used in a nautical theme or a country theme. Just because your room may have some brighter colors doesn't mean black and white won't fit.

Black and white can sometimes mean..umm..kinda brown and white and with a nice brown frame, either of these selections above goes well with nautical decor.
On the left is Off Season and on the right is South Beach. Both are found at Art.com
Frequently, alternate sizes of prints can be found at Art.com and if you don't like the frames above, they have a great option where you see your print framed in a number of different styles.

On the left, of course, is one of Ansel Adams' masterpieces, Oak Tree. I know what you're thinking...reminds your of the U2 album, The Joshua Tree.
Us too.
Again, vary the frame color or choose an area of your room for contrast and go with the black frame. This one deserves to stand out.
Another piece that touched us was Dune Fence, on the right. Seems like the country wind never blew as stiff as the wind in the big city. But still, it's taken its toll on this ol' fence.
Again, both of these are available at Art.com

Traditional, although it means many things to many people, always remind us of America in a simpler time. Not the modern craze of the 50's, or shag carpet in the 70's - but beautiful wood, sturdy pieces with wonderful detailing and dignified design.
Traditional black and white art reminds us of the America our grandparents knew - The Great Depression, World War II, the Cold War.
Think about creating a special area of your wall as a tribute to "days gone by".
You can, again, find all the above at Art.com
We love the look of America in black and white, but what's even more striking is the look of Europe.
There's just something about the prints above the make Europe come alive. It could be that two of them are LIFE Magazine(R) photos (Piccadilly Circus and Paris Fog) or maybe that the sophistication of Europe and the sophistication of black and white framed art makes a perfect match.
An updated french provincial style accomodates these prints well, but also consider them in a contemporary living room.
All three of the pieces above are found at Art.com

Less is more with two of the prints above. The contrast of the white space and abstract lines against the powerful black frame is superb contemporary look.
Atlantis II, the third, is a great minimal look that captures a beautiful design on shells. Let the frame complement the color of your walls. This print is versatile, as well, with applications in nautical themed rooms, as well as contemporary.
Thanks to Art.com for this awesome collection of prints that truly demonstrates the impact black and white framed art can have on your living room.
From having uses in multiple design styles, a classic look that captures many different eras and a powerful statement of contrast - black and white framed art can truly make a difference in any living room.
