Imagine settling into your black leather recliner sofa on a Sunday afternoon. You've got your beer, your nachos, your remote control and everything is just perfect. It's GAME TIME!!
Perhaps it's a Thursday, you've got your favorite throw pillow and blanket, a toasty mug of hot chocolate or a glass of wine and you've just changed the channel to ABC for another dose of Dr. McDreamy and the gang.
Whatever kind of relaxation or entertainment you're preparing for, there are few better ways to enjoy it than while sitting in a leather recliner sofa.
Why?
Traditionally, sofas were sofas and recliners were recliners. My dad had his recliner in the living room and so did his dad before him. What about mom? The kids? They were relegated to the sofa or an accent chair. If they were lucky and the room was big enough, there was club chair, as well.
Today, with versatility and variety being buzzwords in furniture, and commerce in general, the sofa and the recliner have combined and now everyone has the opportunity to sink deep into the cushions and put their feet up.
Combine the concept of a reclining sofa with the durability and low-maintenance of leather and WOW!! Time to start living in the living room.
So why would you choose a black leather recliner sofa over other types of sofas and chairs? We're so glad you asked...
First of all, you get two recliners in one chair, plus a seat in the middle. Family TV night? Mom and dad at each end with the little ones in the middle. Pass the popcorn! Nobody to sit in the middle? Fine, some models have middle cushions that flip down into a table with built in drink holders.
Second, it saves space. Let's say your "living room" is actually a media room you created in your newly finished basement. You had to make some choices so you could build a playroom for your kids too. But, there's just enough room for that 60" plasma TV and a sleek black leather recliner sofa. Imagine the outcome if you'd put two recliners and a loveseat in that room. You'd have to climb over the furniture just to sit in it!!
That may sound a bit far fetched, but that exact scenario came to mind when we were down in our basement the other day, thinking about how we'd design it when we finally finish it off. Guess we know what we're getting!
Next, leather handles wear better. It's 4-5 times as strong as fabric and can take the heavy activity from the entire family much better than fabric can.
Finally, leather is easy to clean if you purchase a coated leather. Uncoated leathers absorb water and oils and do require regular dusting to keep them free from dirt. (We recommend only using uncoated, or pure aniline leathers in low-traffic, low-activity areas)
On a coated leather, mild soap and water can be used and these leathers tend to resist staining. Coated leathers are definitely the right move if you're planning heavy use for your sofa. For more on leather cleaning, check out this article, Understanding How to Care for Leather Furniture.
Why a black leather recliner sofa? Well, black is the color of the home theater and if you are going for a studio-type feel, then black is the color.
Black is contemporary, black goes with everything, black is sophisticated and sleek and...black is just cool. Don't believe us? Fine, let's just show you a few examples of how cool black can be.

Above is the El Ran Dakota Sofa from CSN Leather.com. It's classy, it's simple, it's elegant, and it's black leather. The pull handle is on the inside, too.
Next?

Above is the El Ran Triumph Sofa, also from CSN Leather.com. This one is a bit more laid back but still pretty slick, at the same time.
The handle is visible, which is kind of a bummer, but you can put an optional drawer under the middle seat.
Another black leather recliner sofa?

Now, maybe you've noticed that there are some good prices on leather sofas and chairs on the sites we recommend. It's not just that these are good sites that use the internet to pass the savings onto you.
It's also that a good deal of the products advertised are leather match. Leather match sofas and chairs are not 100% leather. They are leather where you sit, but in the areas you don't sit, they use a dyed-to-match vinyl. All three sofas we've shown you so far are leather match or leather/vinyl.
