Designing My Living room around a Blue Picture

by Kylea
(Kansas)

I am designing a living room that has 8' ceilings and the main focal point is a large fireplace.

We wanted to go with a southwestern style and my sister hand painted a picture with many shades of blue and blue-green that I would like to design around.

I have picked a neutral color for the walls (Kilim Beige by Sherwin Williams) but have been considering doing an accent wall in one of the lighter blue shades from the picture. A few friends have suggested doing the wall behind the fireplace and that it would really make it pop.

I am a fan of mixing the warm and cool colors as the trends have recently moved to but want to make sure I execute it correctly. Does anyone have any suggestions or examples of this or suggestions on how to pull it off.

Any help would be welcome!
