Don't think for a second that Jen and I don't buy discount wall art!

Just because we operate this website doesn't mean we're out at auctions buying original Picasso's or anything. We're everyday folks who shop at Target, look for sales and clip coupons.

Some of the best looking pieces in our living room are discounted items or purchased from discount oriented retailers like Wal-Mart, Target, Hobby Lobby, and Kirkland's.

Here is a fantastic example of what has Target has to offer. The Crimson Accent II by Laurie Maitland has great neutral colors and goes well in traditional and casual rooms, like our living room. This piece looks like it came from an upscale furniture store or boutique. We love the level of quality and style in home decor items at Target.

Here's another example of great wall art from Target. We're fans of minimalism and neutral colors and the Showa Cloth Art Trio is a great example of both. The white space sets off the geometric designs in each square perfectly. Jen's favorite color is brown so the taupe accents really made her happy when she found this one on Target's website.

Putting Discount Wall Art to Use in Your Living Room

How about some ideas on how to accent your living room with your favorite discount wall art pieces.

• If your mantle is a focal point, accent it with framed art and wrought iron wall art above

• Take two accent chairs, use an end table in between with a lamp or a vase full of greenery or accent wheat and position a framed art print directly above.

• Position an accent chair or lounge chair in a corner. Position a sconce on one wall above the chair and a framed art print or wall sculpture in the facing corner. Use a torchiere light or tall decorative urn next to the chair to add some depth.

• If your sofa is against a wall, position a small shelf above it, and layer two complementary prints over each other.
