Floating Bookshelf Examples
You can make a really stylish floating shelf by first finding old, hardback books at thrift stores and garage sales.
Then simply attach "L" brackets to the wall at the desired height, arrange the found books on the "L" brackets and it looks like the books are floating against the wall. This can be an interesting wall feature or you could even use these as end tables if your couch, loveseat, or chair are against the wall.
