Repainting our Living Room - Mahogany Furniture

Here's a question from Irene, a devoted member of the SLRI Universe...

Please help me with my problem.

My living room is not so big, but not so small. The wall color is ivory and all my furniture is made of wood varnished in mahogany, but it seems my living room looks bare and not so attractive to the eyes. I plan to repaint the wall, but I'm confused and hesitant.

What color is suitable for the wall?
